Learn how to create your own faux velvet flocked ornaments that are so trendy and come in a variety of colors for every home decor style. Paint your plastic or glass ornament two coats, allowing to dry completely after the first one. Then sprinkle a mixture of flour and cornstarch over the second coat of paint while it is still wet. Allow to dry. With a wide paintbrush, brush the flour mixture off the ornament until you get the desired velvet look you are happy with. Dry brush black, brown and gold paint to the silver top of the ornament to give it an aged metal appearance. Add a velvet ribbon and you are ready to hang your ornament or display in a bowl for the holidays.
