In todays video I will be showing you how to create a base layer using colored pencils. This botanical coloured pencil drawing was a real time tutorial and I will link it down below. I will be using gamsol odorless mineral spirits to help blend out my base layer to get a really smooth base layer to work from to create details with my colored pencils which I will be demonstrating in my next video.

Supplies Used:
Hot pressed watercolor paper (I'm using Strathmore 500 series)
Prismacolor & Polychromos colored pencils
Gamsol odorless mineral spirits (you can use a blender pencil instead)
masking tape if you want to tape your paper down
Glassine paper (no smudge paper, you can use a clean piece of paper if needed)
