Come create a magical layered lavender field card featuring a curious kitty, glowing sunset, dragonfly, and lots of beautiful dimension! It's for the ScrapNStamp Summer Fun hop for their summer sale. In this cardmaking tutorial, I’m showing you how to use layered die cuts and color values to create depth and perspective in a handmade mixed media card.
This summer-themed card started with a simple idea: a kitty hiding and playing in a lavender field at sunset. By using light, medium, and dark purple layers, along with masking, ink blending, mica sprays, shimmer, and strategically placed die cuts, we can create the illusion of a field stretching into the distance. I’ll share how I added a custom-coloured marmalade/tabby kitty, a shimmering dragonfly, sunset-inspired colors, and a few touches of sparkle and glossy accents to bring the whole scene to life. 🌅💜
