Learn how to craft a DIY pinwheel headband using Duck Tape® brand duct tape in this easy craft tutorial from DIY crafter, Karen Kavett. This pinwheel headband was made using Americana printed duct tape and a patriotic color theme, but with hundreds of colors and prints available, you can substitute these tapes with any style you choose.

Headband
Wire

INSTRUCTIONS
(00:34) First, make a square of Duck Tape that is Americana on one side and red (or blue) on the other.
(00:42) A trick to making a perfect Duck Tape square is to cut one strip of each tape three inches long,
(00:54) and then tape the pieces sticky side to sticky side at a right angle to make the shape of a plus sign.
(01:02) Then, trim off the excess with scissors, quickly leaving you with a perfect square of tape.
(01:14) Now, use your scissors to carefully cut about three quarters of an inch in from each corner, making sure to keep the center intact.
(01:28) Very carefully, use a thumbtack to poke a hole in the center of your square, as well as on one side of each of the corners.
(01:45) Take one piece of your wire and bend the end into a spiral to make a stopper.
(01:53) Now, carefully poke the other end of your wire through the four holes you made in the corners of your square.
(02:17) Once you've gone through all of the corners, poke the wire through the whole in the center and pull tight to form the pinwheel.
(02:30) Repeat these steps until you have five pinwheels made--Karen made 3 red and 2 blue, each with the Americana tape on the other side.
(02:40) Now, place the pinwheel on your headband and wrap the end of the wire around, making sure the end is not going to poke your head when you wear it.
