The Hi-Lo system is a simple way blackjack players track whether the deck is rich in high cards or low cards.You assign values like this:

2–6 = +1
7–9 = 0
10, J, Q, K, A = -1

As cards are played, you keep a running count.

A HIGH positive count means more high cards are left in the deck — which slightly favors the player.
A LOW or negative count means more low cards remain — which favors the casino.
