Spaghetti Squash is one of the most exciting member of the squash family. Nature literally offers us a vegetarian already made pasta! But to cook Spaghetti Squash, you need to follow some basic steps.
First, know that Spaghetti Squash is really hard. Hard to pierce, hard to cut : take a good knife or a bread knife and cut carefully and patiently.
To cook the actual vegetable, you can follow many options : the easiest is to boil it whole for 40 minutes, before deseeding it. But you might find its taste a bit bland.
We personnaly favorited the roasted version. Deseed your squash, season it with a bit of oil, salt and pepper and put it face down in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until you can easily pierce its skin with a fork.
Take it out and just pull the spaghetti with a fork. Easy!
Be creative with the toppings: traditional bolognese sauce, eggs and bacon or as we did with mushrooms and lemon, everything is possible. Easier top the spaghetti squash directly with a sauce, or sautee them shortly with your seasonings.
It's delicious and not that complicated to cook a Spaghetti Squash!
