_The best treatment for arachnophobia: the Distant Blue Moon method!_
The idea for this video came after a Reddit viewer asked me about a consistent way to beat Bospider without taking damage. Well, the short answer would be "Hadoken!", but this is a wordy channel which thrives on wall of text tutorials, so we are taking the long path here.
Keep in mind that this is a tutorial, so I'm considering that the audience for this video is someone who is struggling a lot to read Bospider's movement. **Therefore this method is very conservative in its dodging and it works even if the player is not good about reading Bospider's movements.**
The whole idea is to be able to keep dodging without taking damage until Bospider presents a very easy pattern, so that we can finally attack it without taking risks. If you are more used to this fight, you will be able to take advantage of many more opportunities for attacking (and in many instances in the video you'd probably use charged Shotgun Ice or you'd cancel the charge to use a simple Shotgun Ice shot instead).
As stated in the video, the basic idea is using the charged Rolling Shield. Then we are going to wait to see where Bospider appears (which side of the screen: left or right) and we are going to immediately start climbing the opposite wall. If Bospider starts climbing back to the top close to our wall, we'll have to do a *wall jump dash* to avoid it.
**Why this works:**
This whole climbing idea works because once we reach Bospider's height, the boss will pause briefly to throw some mini-spiders. This is enough to allow us to keep climbing safely *while also* giving us time to finish charging our Rolling Shield.
It is important to notice that while you are preparing to climb the wall, you should also take a look at Bospider's movement path. If it is a very easy one, then you should go back to the floor and position yourself accordingly to be able to hit the boss. Also during the fight I'm selecting weapons through the pause menu. This allows me to easily cancel the charged effect of special weapons (like Rolling Shield and Chamaleon Sting).
For this method, Chamaleon Sting is used only during bad setups (which usually are related to having those 4 pesky mini-spiders on screen). That's because it's easy to run out of ammo if one starts using it all the time. I recommend practicing most of the fight with Rolling Shield because it won't take long for you to feel comfortable about dodging Bospider and you won't run out of ammo. After getting a better grasp of that, then you can focus on when to attack the boss.
P.S.: If you are still struggling, it could be interesting to start using Chamaleon Sting more often when the boss starts moving really fast. Just keep in mind that you will need to be more accurate/aggressive in your attacking to be able to finish the fight before you run out of Chamaleon Sting ammo.

This charming SAGE 2025 demo of the fangame Mega Hat offers 5 stages (Intro + 4 Met Masters’ stages) for players to experience a day in the life of a Met. You’ll be able to feel the power of an immovable object by using your (very) hard hat to reflect shots back to foes!
Unfortunately, since this is a challenge video, you won’t see that new mechanic here, but I strongly recommend that you try out that wonderful shield when playing this demo. It’s awesome! Just keep in mind that glowing projectiles cannot be reflected (they will pierce through your hat and deal damage).
All in all, a solid demo worth one’s time. I’m looking forward to the full game!
