*How to buy a new domain through Shopify or connect an existing one*
To set up a domain on Shopify, log in to your Shopify admin, go to Settings - Domains, and then click Connect existing domain. Enter your domain name, and follow the prompts to either connect automatically or update your DNS settings with the A and CNAME records provided by Shopify on your third-party domain provider's website.
*1. Connecting an Existing Domain*
Log in to your Shopify admin: and navigate to Settings - Domains.
Click Connect existing domain .
Enter your domain name: (e.g., yourdomain.com) and click Next.
Follow the instructions: to either connect automatically by logging into your domain provider (like Cloudflare or GoDaddy) or to connect manually by updating your DNS settings.
*2. Connecting Manually (DNS Settings)*
Log in to your domain provider's account .
Go to the DNS settings: for your domain.
Delete any existing A or CNAME records: that might conflict.
Add the following records:
A Record: Set the host to @ and the points-to value to Shopify's IP address: 23.227.38.65.
CNAME Record: Set the host to www and the points-to value to shops.myshopify.com.
Go back to your Shopify admin: and click Verify connection to confirm the update.
*3. Buying a Domain Through Shopify*
Log in to your Shopify admin: and go to Settings - Domains.
Click Buy a new domain .
Search for and purchase: your desired domain name directly through Shopify.
Once purchased, the domain will be automatically set up and connected to your store.
