In this video, I'm showing how to connect a PS4 gamepad to a MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor robot. It also works with LEGO SPIKE Prime. Out of the box, the Robot Inventor kit can connect to a gamepad. But only in the laggy streaming mode and only with a desktop or laptop computer in between. Also the official LEGO setup does not support Python! This setup fixes all that by using a small LMS-ESP32 board in between. That board pairs with any Bluetooth Classic gamepad - like the PS4, Microsoft Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and most of their clones. The LMS-ESP32 board then sends the results over UART to your MINDSTORMS robot. You can pick and process about 30 gamepad inputs per second. This makes for mighty snappy remote control!
