In this episode, we use three techniques to record hihat and ride cymbal with a AEA N22 ribbon mic. The ribbon mic is not the only mic that you can use these recording tips with, but the null that a figure 8 microphone has is helpful in applications where you want to record something, and avoid the bleed from nearby sounds.
