Is your water heater not working? Here I take you through the detailed step by step testing process of an electric water heater's parts. We will be checking the upper thermostat, lower thermostat, top heating element, and bottom heating element using my Fieldpiece digital multimeter. I will take you though how to diagnose the hot water heater while the power is off and then also show you how to check a water heater while it is on & connected to power. I also demonstrate how to calculate the current amperage & wattage being drawn by the water heater electric elements.
