In 1476, Italian jurist Paride del Pozzo wrote a legal treatise on contemporary dueling law that settles exactly this matter ("Duello, libro de re, imperatori, principi, signori, gentil'homini; & de tutti armigeri").
Note that the illustrations shown in the video are not depictions of the specific duel described by Paride del Pozzo, but are late 15th century illustrations from fencing manuals including the Hans Talhoffer Fechtbuch c. 1459 (MS_Thott.290.2º) and the Paulus Kal Fechtbuch c. 1470 (Cgm 1507).
