Prawn here with a quick look at the different ways to control your RGB fans. Here I am showing you how to control the RGB of your fans even if you have different fans in your case. If you've bought a pre-built PC and aren't sure how to control the fan lighting these tips should help you work that out. If you've got ARGB fans then you should be able to control them with the motherboard software, unless they're connected to a case controller instead.
One simple solution is to use SignalRGB (signalrgb.com/) which is a free bit of software that works with a lot of different devices and can help match RGB across lots of different fan types and other things.
You can also use your motherboard software easily:
Asrock - asrock.com/microsite/polychromergb
Gigabyte - gigabyte.com/microsite/512/rgb2.html
Asus - asus.com/campaign/aura/us/download.php
MSI - msi.com/Landing/mystic-light-rgb-gaming-pc
If you're a Corsair fan, you can use plugins in Corsair iCue to link the software with your relevant motherboard too. That can then let you control the RGB lighting over everything connected to the motherboard in one place - RAM, fans, coolers and more. Though you can't really use that and your motherboard software at the same time.
Sometimes fans might have a dedicated controller, like with Lian Li fans. In which case you'll need that brand's relevant software (e.g. L-Connect 3). Often that too has motherboard sync options though.
If you love Corsair you can always upgrade your case with a Commander Duo and then control everything from iCue easily.
