I'm sure we've all wondered. Gee, wouldn't it be nice if this Pokemon had this Tera type instead, especially with a move like Tera Blast being a thing? Thankfully, this is something you can change without having to catch a new mon to do it.
To do this, go to the restaurant where you beat Larry, and give the chef 50 Tera Shards of the type you have in mind. These shards can be obtained from the chef herself (one time only for Normal type), from doing all classes with a teacher in the Academy, found on the floor in places like Area Zero, and predominantly from raid battles. It's definitely a grind to get fifty of the type you want, but it can absolutely be worth it to change the tide of battle as you swap types on the fly and power up a new STAB move. How you use it is up to you.
I'd also like to give a shout out to K.I. for helping me record some of this, since I've been recovering from a painful surgery and got a nasty flu that really affected me. Without your help, I would not have been able to get these videos out in a timely manner. I love you.
