How to change Nominee in NPS Tier 1 account online
Follow the following steps to know 'how to change nominee details in NPS online.
STEP 1. Go to cra-nsdl.com and login to your NPS account using your PRAN number and password.
STEP 2. After login to your account put the cursor on the option 'Demographic changes'. Some new options will be appeared. Click on the option Add/Update Nominee details.
STEP 3. An pop up massage will displayed it says that it required OTP authentication, make sure that your mobile number is updated with CRA and UADAI. f your mobile number is updated with aadhaar and CRA then click on confirm.
STEP 4. Now again you will be on the previous page where you are asked to select tier type. Select the option Tier I if you want to update nominee in tier I and select Tier II if you wish to change nominee details in Tier II then select Tier II.
STEP 5. Now you are in the nominee details updating page. Edit your nominee details here. If you wish to add another nominee then click on the 'Add' option. When you click on 'Add' another form of add second nominee will appear. You can enter the details of the second nominee. After entering all the details click on 'Save' button.
STEP 6. Now you will see again the details which you have entered. Which will appear in red colour. If anything need for correction then click on the 'Modify' button and if everything is OK then click on 'Submit'.
STEP 7. Now an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number with NPS. Enter the OTP and click on 'submit OTP' button.
STEP 8. Again a pop up massage will be displayed. It says that your name in PRAN and Aadhaar should be match. If the name match then click on 'Proceed' button. Here e-sign service charges and tax of Rs.5.90 will be applicable.
STEP 9. Now you are redirected to 'NSDL electric signature service' page. Here you need to authorized NSDL to use your Aadhaar. Trick on the box against it and enter your aadhaar number on the bottom of the page. After enter the Aadhaar number click on 'Send OTP' option.
STEP 10. An OTP will be received on your registered mobile number with aadhaar. Enter the OTP and click on "Verify OTP' option.
STEP 11. In this page success of e-sign for subscriber modification will be displayed. Your the acknowledgement number of your modification number will also be displayed. Note it for further communication. It also says that your modification request is pending for verification. You need to download the e-sign form and verify the acknowledgement number from your nodal office.
Now click on 'download e-sign file' button and save the file on your computer. Take a print out of it and submit it with an application to your nodal office for verification. Citizen of India NPS holder can make verification through nearest POP, POPS.
