Cast off, or bind off, is an essential part of finishing any knitting project. In this video we will show you how to cast off using the standard method.


STEP-BY-STEP
1) Knit first 2 stitches.
2) Use left needle to pick up first stitch.
3) Bring the first stitch over second stitch and slide off the needle. Now you have 1 stitch remaining on the right needle.
4) Knit one more stitch so you always have 2 stitches on the right needle. Repeat steps 2-4.
5) On the last stitch, remove needle, cut yarn approx. 25cm and thread yarn through stitch. Tighten.

And that’s how you cast off in knitting!
