Your spirit was never meant to live depleted.
Scripture says, “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself” (1 Corinthians 14:4), and Jude tells us to build ourselves up in faith by “praying in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 20).
Praying in tongues isn’t meaningless babbling. Paul said, “My spirit prays.” It is spirit-to-Spirit communion with God—a supernatural gift through which our inner man is strengthened and built up.
John G. Lake once said, “Tongues have been the making of my ministry.”
There is something powerful about making praying in the Spirit part of your daily life—not only when you feel weak, not only in a church service, but consistently.
Don’t wait until you feel spiritual. Pray until your spirit is strengthened.
