🪵 Materials
Wood type: Spruce, fir, pine or Douglas fir
Squared timber (45 x 45 mm):
3 pcs – 55 cm (front legs)
3 pcs – 100 cm (rear struts)
8 pcs – 40 cm (cross struts)
Wooden slats (smooth-edged):
5 pcs – 18x70 mm x 90 cm (floor)
6 pcs – 18x70 mm x 47 cm (cooktop + cover)
1 pc – 18x70 mm x 81 cm (top front wall)
1 pc – 18x95 mm x 90 cm (rear shelf wall)
1 pc – 18x95 mm x 38.5 cm (right shelf base)
1 pc – 18x95 mm x 38 cm (left shelf base)
1 pc – 18x145 mm x 38.5 cm (mini shelf)
Glued wood panel (18 mm):
1 pc – 50x104 cm (worktop)
1 pc – 37x47 cm (oven door)
1 pc – 24x47 cm (rear board)
Other materials:
36 pcs – 4.5x80 mm wood screws
90 pcs – 3.5x50 mm wood screws
4 pcs – 3.5x16 mm screws
4 pcs – 3.5x30 mm screws
2 stainless steel hinges
3 knobs (2 wood, 1 black plastic)
1 plastic bowl (approx. 20x28 cm)
3 screw hooks (5.2x60 mm)
Blackboard paint (100 ml)
Clear lacquer (DIN EN 71-3, 375 ml)
Masking tape (3–4 m, 25–30 mm)
Painter’s film (approx. 2x2 m)
🪚 Cutting and Preparation
1. Cut frame parts: (45x45)
Use the battery pruner to cut all 45x45 mm timbers as specified. Secure pieces with clamps and trestle. 3 squared timbers, each 55 cm long, as front legs. 3 squared timbers 100 cm long for the rear struts. 8 squared timbers 40 cm long as cross struts.
2. Cut base and cooktop slats (18 x 70 mm):
Saw 5 slats (90 cm), 6 slats (47 cm), and 1 slat (81 cm) for top front wall.
3. Cut shelf parts (18 x 95 mm):
Cut rear shelf: 90 cm, 38 cm (left), 38.5 cm (right), 38.5 cm (wide mini shelf).
4. Cut glued panel parts: (18 m x 50 cm x 200 cm):
Measure and saw worktop (104 cm), oven door (37x47 cm), and blackboard (24x47 cm).
5. Sand all parts:
Deburr all wood edges using multi-sander. Wear full protective gear and sort parts by use.
🛠️ Assembly
1. Build frame sections:
Screw 3 H-shaped frames together using 100 cm rear struts, 55 cm front legs, and 40 cm cross struts. Use brackets for clean angles.
2. Attach first base slat:
Place and align 90 cm slat on rear struts. Screw into left and right frames with 2 screws each. Position center frame 38 cm from left, then fix the same way.
3. Install floor:
Mount remaining 4 slats spaced evenly using 2 screws per contact point. Use 12.5 mm spacers for even gaps.
4. Build oven compartment:
Attach 2 horizontal 40 cm struts between center and left legs. Place 5 slats (47 cm) vertically behind the future oven door.
5. Fix worktop:
Align the 104 cm panel with 7 cm overhang on both sides. Screw into place with 12 screws (2 per point).
6. Assemble rear shelf:
Mount 90 cm slat on top rear edge. Attach left (38 cm) and right (38.5 cm) base slats underneath. Screw 81 cm front panel to the shelf face.
7. Install mini shelf and board:
Mount mini shelf (38.5 cm) 10 cm above the worktop. Use spirit level to check. Attach rear board (24x47 cm) vertically between left and center frame sections.
8. Add cover strip + knobs:
Use one 47 cm slat and drill 2 holes for wood knobs. Mount strip below worktop and screw knobs into place.
9. Install oven door:
Align door to front leg and strip. Attach hinges with 30 mm screws on frame and 16 mm on door. Add black knob by drilling 4 mm hole and fastening.
🚰 Sink & Finishing
1. Cut sink opening:
Flip bowl and trace outline on right side of worktop. Trace inner line and cut carefully. Smooth edges with sander.
2. Paint:
Tape oven door borders and hob circles to protect from paint. Apply blackboard paint with brush. Let dry fully, then remove tape.
3. Apply lacquer:
Coat entire surface with weatherproof clear lacquer (except chalkboard). Allow full drying time.
4. Add hooks:
Screw 3 hooks into side panel – perfect for towels or kitchen tools.
Place in garden:
Choose suitable spot for children to enjoy their new outdoor kitchen!
