Easily enhance your outdoor grill area by building a DIY stone grill surround with concrete blocks. We’ll show you how your stone BBQ Grill Surround will be both functional and have a professional, polished look!
What We'll Cover:
Measuring and Planning: Learn how to measure the depth and ideal height of your counter for your specific grill, and choose the right type of product for your project.
Building Columns: We'll use our Chateau wall in the 300mm (12” block) size to make 20” outside diameter columns on both sides of the grill. Topping them with 24” column caps will provide 4 sq ft of counter space on either side.
Placement and Mock-Up: Tips on placing your grill, mocking up the wall blocks, and ensuring a good air gap for ventilation.
Stacking and Adhesive: Step-by-step instructions on stacking the blocks, applying adhesive, and ensuring structural integrity.
Cap Stones: How to test fit, apply adhesive, and place the cap stones for a perfect finish.
We'll demonstrate the process on an existing patio, but if you're building on gravel, be sure to check out our video on how to build a stone column for more details.
By the end of this tutorial, you'll have a beautiful and functional grill surround that enhances your outdoor living space. We hope you find this video helpful, and be sure to check out our library of how-to videos for more DIY hardscape projects.
