That’s a thought loop. And the way out isn’t more thinking.
First, name it. “I’m in a thought loop.” Labeling it creates distance and helps your brain step out of autopilot.
Next, get it out of your head. Say it out loud or write it down. Loops grow in silence.
Then shift your senses—cold water, movement, or something strong enough to pull your attention elsewhere.
You don’t solve the loop. You interrupt it.
