My front overlapped, so I pinned and blocked 1 side first, and then the other.

You can use an iron that has a steamer option. Or you can get a steamer: amzn.to/2xUDi47 that can steam horizontally. My steamer does not steam horizontally, so I had to prop my mattress on its side to steam. (super annoying)
