After a week of practicing, I was able to consistently keep my any% speedrun at a sub-60 level.
This is a not-so-comprehensive and very laid back guide on how to beat Hollow Knight in less than an hour.

Speedrun mod made by Underlein:

The speedrun mod was built to make variables on runs a little more consistent, and changes the current patch to run like previous patches, allowing things like lever skips and the baldur insta-kill glitch.

There is not a leaderboard for these types of runs yet, as any mod installed technically disqualifies you for the official leaderboard, but the speedrun mod is tailored in a way that makes previous skips more available without the need to downpatch. If this gets a positive response, I'll likely go back and do another run without the mod installed.
