An earnest attempt to convince myself that I love living in the soggy gloom of western Washington, because my family and friends are all here and it's just so cozy. I didn't choose the slug life...but I accept its slimy embrace.
NOTE! I am aware that the PNW does not get an extraordinary VOLUME of rainfall compared to other wet regions. I have no idea why most statistics use volume as their metric, since it's meaningless to the experience of living here. Inches this, inches that, all I care about is how OFTEN it rains, and by that metric western WA is top 5 in the country.
I'm also aware that over half of Washington and Oregon are arid high desert climate, because I lived there for 4 years, but nobody means the east side when they say "Pacific Northwest."
