WHY will the hiring manager ask you the interview question, why do you want to work here?
The hiring manager is going to ask you the question, why do you want to work here for two reasons:
REASON 1. They want to make sure you have researched their company. If you haven’t researched the company before your interview, you can’t be sure their workplace culture is suited to your personality. In your answer, you must say you have researched the company!
REASON 2. The second reason they will ask you the question why do you want to work here is because they want to employ someone who will stay at the company long-term. If you are confident their company is a place you can build a successful and long-term career at, you will be more likely to get hired!
Before I give you my two best sample answers to the question, why do you want to work here, let me teach you how to quickly research a company.
When you research the company before your job interview, make sure you do the following two things:
1. Visit their website and take a look at their ‘ABOUT US’ page. Find out what they actually do, the products and services they sell, and any information about their company mission and plans for the future.
2. Look at any positive reviews customers or clients have been leaving online about the company and follow them on social media and take note of their latest news stories!
