This video will show you how to add a shutdown button to Windows 8. It is extremely simple to do, and is basically done by creating a shortcut that links to the shutdown function of Windows.
As shown in the video, go to the Desktop, and right click. In the menu that appears, mouse over new, and then click shortcut.
In the window that appears type shutdown /p This simply links the shortcut to the Windows shutdown function. After this, hit next, and name it anything you want, and then hit finish.
If you want to have it on the metro interface as well, simply right click on the shortcut and choose "Pin to Start".
