Crafts With Ellen | How to adapt the fit of a T-shirt | Sewing Tutorial @CraftsWithEllen | Uploaded 6 years ago | Updated 11 minutes ago
A lot of cool T-shirts are only available in a unisex style, which basically means it is a men’s shirt. While that makes sense from a sales perspec tive, I don’t like the way that style looks on me. So all too often, my concert tees and other cool shirts ended up as pajamas, which is such a waste. But when I learned more about sewing, I found out it’s actually really easy to change the fit to suit me much better!

This T-shirt is by Make It Soph, here's a link to her channel:

It’s best to start with a shirt that has a good shoulder width, because that’s the only part that’s difficult to change. But waist, sleeves and neckline can all be adapted without too much hassle. I hope this video encourages you to give it a try yourself and that lots of T-shirts will be worn a lot more!

What you’ll need:
- T-shirt (with a good shoulder width)
- Matching thread
- Seam ripper
- Scissors
- Tailors chalk
- Pins
- Sewing machine

If you make one of your own, I'd love to see it! Send me a picture on Instagram @craftswithellen.
