Most of us who aren't walking, talking embodiments of a corporate super PAC agree that campaign money is infecting and perverting our politics. But very few people actually do something about it. Today we talk with Hawaii State Senator Jarrett Keohokalole, lead author of a first-in-the-nation state campaign finance law — designed, passed, and enacted earlier this year — to constitutionally get money out of politics. He also happens to be challenging a corporate Democrat in a deep blue district in a primary next week. After talking shop with Jarrett, Leah and Ezra take listener questions: Do Democrats need a positive vision? Why don't people vote on democracy, and what do we do about it? And how do we fight back against the ongoing attacks on elections?
