onlinekyne | How To: 2 Piece Set (Bralette and Shorts) From Jeans! Thrift Store Sewing Tutorial DIY @onlinekyne | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 14 hours ago
HI GUYS
Today's vid is a fun thrift store transformation tutorial where I take this pair of jeans and turn it into a bralette and short short situation. This is my first time making a bralette like this hmmm I think it turned out well in the front but I need more practice with the back closure lol. Hope you guys enjoy! Shall I turn this into a series??
Here’s the pattern I used: shorturl.at/buFLT
I got it from withwendy’s blog (woot woot) and it makes a triangle bra with straight edges. You’ll see I modified mine to curve the edges out, giving it a fatter sort of seashell shape instead of thinner triangles. When printing patterns, try just scaling it up with your printer and making a mockup of a single bra and seeing if the size suits you, and scale up/down from there! Took me a couple iterations but that's what I did. Btw I know nothing about cup sizes so please don't ask lol.
Here's the rest of the materials I used:
- 1 pair of jeans
- 3 inch by 38 inch rectangle of any lining fabric
- Bra back closure
- Tweezers for distressing the shorts
- Bleach (optional)
