I recently had to take a long break from my PhD dissertation writing. In my experience, the longer the break from working on a writing project, the harder it is to start up again. 🕒 This video outlines the steps I'm taking to get back to writing. ✍️ And so far - it's working! Although my time is limited, my writing is going faster than ever because when I sit down to write, I am focused on the specific tasks I need to complete to get the project done. No more reading to procrastinate or editing to perfection. Just planning, writing, editing, then back to planning for the next chapter. And that's how I plan to finish this darn PhD degree! Although I showcase how I'm using the notetaking/knowledge management app Scrintal to complete this process, you could do it on a piece of paper or the app of your choosing. (It does help to have a zettelkasten, though!!) If you ARE using Scrintal, this video also might help you understand how to integrate your Scrintal-based zettelksten into your planning to reignite your writing process!
