Meet Bre Lightfoot, owner of The Velvet Root Salon in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Two years ago, Bre and her husband Brad packed up their lives—and their six animals—and made the 1,600-mile journey from California to Kansas City. After successfully owning and operating two salons in California, Bre spent time working in a local Kansas City salon before taking the leap to open The Velvet Root this spring.
