luring them through online platforms like Backpage. After his arrest, Vann confessed to at least seven murders, revealing a chilling method of strangulation and body disposal in abandoned homes around Gary, Indiana. Hardy’s case highlighted how data analysis and technology could connect cold cases and uncover hidden threats. In May 2018, Vann was sentenced to seven consecutive life terms without parole.
