Prior to moving to the Netherlands, I never had heard of Moluccan people. But after hearing about them, I was curious to dive more into their culture and their unique history with the Netherlands. So I reached out to a Moluccan filmmaker (Uriël Matahelumual) and he not only gave me a rundown of his community's history but also connected me with people and events that that gave me great insight on how special the Moluccan community is here in the Netherlands.
