How Tech Companies Build Up Hype For New Products
From the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus to the Apple iPhone X/8, How a product is presented to the public is an important factor in whether it is successful or not.

As of recent there has been an overflow of great products released by companies big and small. This includes devices such as Apple’s recent iPhone X Release and even Samsung’s More recent Galaxy S9 Smartphone. The fact stands that many of the current devices which are popular and are gaining hype are indeed top tier high quality devices. From Gaming Laptops and PC’s, to Camera Gear and even included in this list are new games which come out. But within this overflow of products, how do companies manage to stand out? How do companies persuade potential buyers to actually get their products. Well, there are actually a couple of interesting things which are done.
Launch events are held such as the case with the Apple iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S9, and likely with the upcoming LG G7 and OnePlus 6. From these launch events creators and reviewers get review models of these devices and they do unboxings, review and list features and what they like about these devices. For example, with the most recent Samsung Galaxy S8, many people were talking about the new camera and its new features, which includes a adjustable aperture feature. With the iPhone X the biggest hype was the new processor and the trademark notch (which many companies such as LG, Asus, and even OnePlus are reported to be adopting with the upcoming LG G7 NEO, OnePlus 6, and Zenfone 5) but apart from that many companies do some interesting things in order to create hype and interest around new products. Not just tech companies, but companies in general, both big and small.

One thing which some companies do well and some don’t, is Focusing on the Customer, and Not the Product. This tactic works different with different products, but in the majority, it does benefit certain companies immensely. For example Apple. When Steve Jobs Was In charge, This was a major tactic which was used. Steve Jobs would go out of his way to emphasize how the product affects the customer and how it would benefit them. He knew that most people didn’t care about the specs, and the ones who did could easily find that information on Apple’s website or product literature. He pushed the idea of benefits to consumers and focused less on the device itself. This is something other companies like Tesla and even Samsung Do.
