PART 2 - Summerside PEI adds a AI-powered solar microgrid and a solar farm with energy storage to achieve an amazing 62% renewable energy supply. This is a big accomplishment considering they had ZERO electricity generation locally a decade ago except for some backup diesel generators. This follows their first project in which they added a small wind farm, a smart grid and energy-storing furnaces and water heaters. Now they are planning to take what they learned and build an energy-positive neighbourhood.
While many jurisdictions struggle to clean their electricity grids Summerside is leading municipalities across Canada making it look easy. Remember the City started from ZERO just a decade or so ago.
