How to get paid more without working longer hours?
The secret is “increase the value of your time”.
Not all work has equal value.
1 hour of a doctor’s time is worth more than
a waiter at a restaurant working for an hour.
Why?
Because of skill and knowledge.
It’s a simple rule.
Skill and knowledge allow the doctor to charge more
compared to the waiter.
How can you make this work in your favor?
The answer is “Start offering consultation.”
People are willing to pay for personalized feedback.
You are using your skill and knowledge to give them
feedback based on their exact situation.
And the good thing is,
when done correctly,
your consultation session will not last longer than 90 minutes.
Here’s how I structure all my consultation sessions.
1. Break the ice
2. Set Agenda
3. Delivery
4. Evaluation
5. Set Up A Close
By the way, you won’t be consulting your clients everyday.
I meet my clients weekly or bi-weekly (which is twice a month)
And remember, your skills will pay your bills.
