There is a strange feeling hanging over modern life, a quiet heaviness that follows us around like humidity in the air. You can sense it when you scroll through TikTok shop late at night or when you open a package from Amazon that somehow arrived only six hours after you ordered it. We live in the golden age of overconsumption, hyper convenience, and slop. The perfect conditions that have created what I call “slopsumerism”.

What happens to society when everything we produce is designed to last as long as a viral trend? What happens when people become addicted to endlessly buying stuff to fill the cracks in our lives caused by the very same system we’re funding?
