Scientists from Imperial College are working with @TransportforLondon to develop a new type of sensor technology based on quantum physics. Quantum sensing can be used to help railway networks like the London Underground to track their trains where GPS can't reach, making our public transport safer, more reliable and more efficient.

This is one of the world-changing technologies supported by UKRI's Technology Missions Fund, which is investing over £320 million in AI, Quantum Technologies, Future Telecommunications and Engineering Biology.
