Karen King is a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and trainer with nearly 20 years of clinical experience, specializing in trauma, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and psychedelic integration. Trained in psychedelic-assisted therapy through MAPS, she has spent the last several years helping clients and clinicians approach psychedelic medicine with both clinical rigor and philosophical depth. As co-author of the upcoming book The Conservative Case for Psychedelics, Karen brings a free-thinking and intellectually independent voice to a field often dominated by narrow ideological perspectives, arguing that healing, personal responsibility, tradition, and human dignity deserve a central place in the psychedelic conversation. Michael Olan, PsyD, is a Doctor of Psychology based in the Chicago area. He is also Co-Director of Critical Therapy Antidote, an international network focused on preserving the core therapeutic ethos of psychotherapy. He trained at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with clinical experience at McLean OCD Institute, Hartgrove Hospital, and Aspire Indiana. His work focuses on how ideology shapes psychotherapy and its impact on the conditions necessary for psychological healing. He has written for Critical Therapy Antidote and presented at Heterodox Academy on using cognitive-behavioural tools to support viewpoint diversity. Michael is also a co-host of the Critical Therapy Antidote Podcast, where he explores the intersection of culture, ideology, and clinical practice.
Jaco van Zyl, MA (Clinical Psychology), is a South Africa-trained clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice, living in Ireland. Jaco has a special interest in both individual and group psychology, and uses a psychoanalytic lens to explore the psychology of ideology, particularly of Critical Social Justice (CSJ). He is a co-director of Critical Therapy Antidote, a co-host of the CTA podcast, and has written articles for Merion West, Critical Therapy Antidote, Genspect and the Journal for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. He is also chapter contributor of Woke - A Critique of Social Justice Ideology, edited by Jon Mills.
