Gil Durán’s new book “The Nerd Reich: Silicon Valley Fascism and the War on Democracy,” digs into the links between tech billionaires and the Trump administration, including the relationship between Vice President JD Vance and billionaire co-founder of PayPal and Palantir, Peter Thiel.
A former venture capitalist Vance’s “outsider” campaign for Senate was bankrolled by Thiel, whose influence has extended to another PayPal co-founder, the former Special Advisor to President Trump, Elon Musk, as well as to Trump’s sons and son-in-law Jared Kushner through a growing network of investments aimed at enlarging the Trump family’s wealth.
