One of the interesting aspects of the Neanderthals is that it has been found that they had incredible immune responses with high pain receptors. This seems like a negative, but it likely kept the Neanderthals on much higher alert for anything that could potentially threaten their lives. So next time you feel like your pain tolerance isn't that high ask yourself, "is this because I'm more Neanderthal than I had ever thought?"
