I forgot to mention so many things that were so important to me about this topic in this video but this shall do for now. I have gotten on my soap box so many times on Youtube regarding controversial topics when comparing Germany vs USA (and this one is nothing new) with the hopes that at least one American might hear what I have to say and actually listen to the words I am saying- here we go again.
Since living in Germany my views have changed drastically on guns. No I am not against guns but I realise that guns were created with one purpose: to kill. Regardless if it animals, humans, or anything in between- they were not created FOR GOOD. I know that some (maybe even many) people use them for good in the USA but on the flip side of that same coin we have a growing problem with the “bad” people using them for bad which is causing hundreds and thousands of people to lose their lives every year in the USA to gun violence.
Gun violence is a normal topic for Americans whether they want to believe it or not. It took me many years of living in Germany to accept that my life has been negatively impacted by being around guns. My perception of violence, aggression, safety, normality and many other things has been skewed due to living in the USA and “experiencing” gun violence on a daily basis. Seeing what gun violence can do to individuals, families, and communities is devastating and it’s not something that any person should have to deal with on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Many Americans that watch my videos like to say that I have become too sensitive since living in Germany but I kindly disagree. Since living in Germany I have not become too sensitive but more aware of my feelings.
