The minions are tier 9, a couple of which are tier 11. However, you could use tier 7 or even tier 5, the main point is that the afk machine will greatly increase the production rates.

Today we test out the potential of an AFK farm in Hypixel Skyblock. We increase minion production speed by a large amount by using the AFK machine, pets, crystals, fuels, and expanders. Results are crazy!
