How much DAC / Amp do your really need in 2026?

Some people say the 3.5 on a new MacBook is enough. Others recommend the Fiio KA11. Then there are pricier dongles like the FOSI DS3 or MD3... Are any of those good enough? Or, do you need to go to a full desktop set up like the Topping DX5 II? More?
