How much AI is too much AI?

AI is becoming part of almost every creative industry — including YouTube. From thumbnail design and image enhancement to editing tools, audio processing and idea generation, the line between “using a tool” and “creating something artificial” is becoming increasingly difficult to define.

Recently, one of my thumbnails sparked some criticism because AI had been used in the process. And it got me thinking: where should that line actually be?

As an independent creator, I’ve always used whatever tools are available to help me make better videos — cameras that automatically process images, editing software, Photoshop, plugins and now AI. But I also completely understand why people are uncomfortable when those tools begin changing reality rather than simply enhancing it.

So rather than pretending there’s an obvious answer, I wanted to open the conversation.

When does AI become too much?
Is enhancing a photograph okay?
What about generating part of a thumbnail?
Should AI-generated music or video be treated differently?
And does it matter whether the creator is transparent about using it?

I’m genuinely interested to hear where you draw the line.
