Earth's magnetic field has been here throughout the history of our planet. So it makes sense that various living creatures have evolved to perceive this magnetic field as an aid to navigation or for other purposes. Migratory birds, for example, have been found to contain a protein within their eyes that detect blue light. Watch this video as we discuss this further.
