Firstly, crocodiles are reptiles, just like lizards and snakes. And just like their reptilian cousins, crocodiles lay eggs too. But they don’t lay just one or two. Oh no, they lay a whole bunch at once!
A female crocodile, when she’s ready to lay her eggs, looks for a quiet, safe spot. She might dig a hole in the sand or build a nest using leaves, mud, and sticks. She carefully chooses this spot because she wants to ensure her eggs are safe from any prying eyes or hungry mouths.
Now, to the exciting part: How many eggs does she lay? Depending on the type of crocodile, she can lay anywhere from 10 to 60 eggs! That's right, up to 60! That's like filling a whole basket with eggs. Imagine having that many brothers and sisters!
