LeBron James' limited liability company borrowed almost $300 million from two Midwestern life insurers advised by Guggenheim Partners in 2018, according to insurance industry records. #lebronjames #nba #sports #basketball #news

The bonds, which are due in 2049, were structured to provide immediate cash to James and backed by a stream of future revenue tied to his earnings outside basketball, people with knowledge of the matter said.

The deal is an example of how athletes and artists are using future earnings to structure deals that help them unlock immediate capital, and how Wall Street money managers have shifted the life insurance business into more unusual investments.
