So in the 32nd century, we see that the United Federation of Planets was surrounded with an Omega 47 Molecule minefield to encase it and prevent its expansion. Is this even possible and for that matter, how large is the Federation now in this era? We hear it was 8000 lightyears in Picard's time, but this is 3195 and after the Burn event. What changed?
