Immortal X-Men #1 is a combination of significant firsts for Marvel’s X-Men comics, the first issue launching the Destiny of X, the first Kieron Gillen written X-Men comic in the Krakoa era, and honestly the first ongoing issue to follow the post-Hickman era of X-Men that ended with Inferno. There’s a ton of pressure on this issue to re-establish the excitement and potential built by House of X and Powers of X, and much like the Hickman event or Al Ewing’s SWORD #1, Immortal X-Men does not disappoint.
