Optimizing your key to your lock can have significant results in increasing your lock’s security and today we are going to explore the topic of key bitting. Key bitting is referring to the “ups and downs” or the “teeth” of your key. We will go over how you can find the correct balance of variation to help optimize your lock. Having too much or too little can affect your locks in different ways.

If you have a lock with a key which has “good bitting” it will be able to help thwart low-level attacks and I will provide you with a visual representation as to why. This is an interesting topic and I hope it is helpful 😊
